What is CF?

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.

CF causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. The degree of CF severity differs from person to person, however, the persistence and ongoing infection in the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function, will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF.

Meet Jill! This event was inspired by her!

Jill was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) at the age of 8, but she has never let this diagnosis stop her from achieving big things in her life. At an early age it was apparent that Jill was a natural athlete, and she excelled at golf. The same year she was diagnosed she received her first set of golf clubs for Christmas. After graduation from high school Jill received a full golf scholarship to Idaho State University and continued on to attain her LPGA Class A Teaching Certificate. Jill shares a love of golf with her husband Jesse. The two were married in 2008 and welcomed their adorable son Will into their world in 2013. While hours of daily CF treatments are a reality for all people living with CF, Jill has always faced her disease with an incredible amount of courage and strength. She is truly an inspirational CF Warrior.
