Sherryl Parsons
Sherryl ParsonsPresident / Event Manager
Sherryl is the Boss! She brings an incredible amount of experience to Rare Affairs. She started with the company 18 years ago and has seen everything. She is always quick with a solution from an idea at the initial planning meeting to a last minute change on site.

Sherryl holds a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) and has a diverse knowledge of organizations ranging from small businesses, to not-for-profit associations to large multi-national companies. She is the engagement specialist!

As if running Rare Affairs wasn’t enough, Sherryl is also the Past President of the Fraser Valley Event Planning Association and a member of Meeting Planners International.

Fun Fact! As a young child Sherryl always wanted to be a Monkey Keeper…not really sure why…but she really likes monkeys!

Chris ParsonsBusiness Manager
Chris is a jack of all trades! He brings a tremendous amount of versatility to the team ranging from business to audio visual, to marketing, web design, and so much more. He also runs our Rare Solutions division (www.raresolutions.ca).

Chris holds a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) and loves working with companies to help them flourish.

He builds event websites and mobile event apps, constructs custom décor, runs tech for virtual events, runs the show from the A/V table for live events and can even stand in front of the crowd to emcee. As a musician, with the acoustic trio Exit 58, he has a keen understanding of how the show needs to run to ensure that it is entertaining and seamless.

When he grows up he would like to be a Master Sommelier…because it’s a fun word to say, and he loves drinking wine!

Laura Warren
Laura WarrenEvent Production Manager
Laura joined Rare Affairs Event Management in 2014 and she brings a ton of fun to our team. You can’t help but smile when you meet her!

She is extremely detail oriented, loves budgets and has a borderline unhealthy excitement for a good spreadsheet. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to Laura, and she takes the time to truly connect with her clients to ensure their vision is reflected in her event design.  Laura is also a dedicated member of her industry network, and the Director of Marketing for the Fraser Valley Event Planning Association.

As a lifelong musician and member of the acoustic trio Exit 58, Laura brings years of performance experience to her role.  She is also an adventurous self-proclaimed foodie who understands the value of a solid Food & Beverage menu that will add to the attendee experience. Truth be told, Laura secretly hopes she will be asked to be the next host of Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives.

For a recent 1960’s themed award show event we custom built this amazing photo booth to match the era, decor, and colours complete with shag carpet and rotary phone. Laura even dressed the part!
